Shades of Grandeur- March 15th
This week Ryan Reed opens a photography exhibit at the Rich App Gallery. Ryan’s haunting pictures of Detroit were a smash hit a few years ago during AP but this is one of his first solo shows in GR.
Reed has taken on some pretty momentous tasks recently including the publishing of a book of images from his travels in Africa and the renovation of a building in downtown Ludington into a gallery and potential artists residency. From the very limited interactions i have had with Reed the think big mentality seems to be a central core tenant of his lifestyle and i would wager a guess that this work will reflect that quality.
According to the event invite this body of work is
an attempt to tell the story of a nation amidst the death of the American Industrial Revolution, when ambitions of empire and the specter of hubris pull at a superpower in transition – at odds with itself and gasping for compass beyond the precipice of shifting paradigm.
Check out the opening Thursday March 15th from 5till 9pm at the Richard App Gallery, 910 Cherry Street or connect on Facebook!
